Hi Ladies!
I know I haven't been here for a while! I started another personal blog and have been sharing some thoughts there, however, it's just been a busy season, so I haven't even been writing much there either!
I came across this preach entitled "A Healthy Self Image" and I just had to share on this forum. I know it's probably things you've already heard over and over but sometimes being reminded helps! It's only 30 minutes and it's bilingual, so everyone can understand. I encourage you to take a listen and be encourage and remember the TRUE definition of Beauty and Self Worth! You are beautiful in the eyes of the Lord and that's what matters most.

The Real Picture....
Came across this video again recently, maybe some of you have already seen it before, it's an old dove commercial, but Love the point it's trying to prove.
You can't compete with something that is fake. Remember that what you see in a magazine and on billboards is not real beauty. Remember that Social Media, does not define true beauty, The LORD does! You are beautiful without the need of any additions, like makeup and jewelry. You are beautiful because you radiate in your outer being the One who lives inside of you. You are his creation, you are wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14). As, I've written before, you must remember the enemy wants to change the perception of true Beauty, for 2 reasons: 1) so that you doubt in your God's love for you 2) so that we may focus so much on our outer being that we lose focus on who we should be inside. Don't give into his plan. Believe that God made you a beautiful lady and focus on beautifying your soul to please the Lord. It's the greatest skincare product, your face will just shine with his Joy and others will notice and will ask of the hope that is in you (1 Peter 3:15).Trust me!
You are beautiful, believe it, Be confident because of the ONE who lives in YOU.

Modest Girl of the Week: Claudia
Today meet Claudia. Claudia is such a special girl in my life. I love this lady so much, it’s an honour for me to know her. Her and her family are a living testimony of how God has the power to completely transform a life for His service and purpose. Claudia came to our church when she was about 19, broken by life, but JESUS came into the picture and restore the Joy of His Salvation in her life. She needed a change and embraced this lifestyle along with Modesty. She has a great testimony, maybe another time, she can share it in full. ; ). For now, this what she had to say.
Age: 24
Dressing modestly Since: 2009
Anything you want to say:
I love sports, which can be hard to dress modestly for when you like to really play, but I work around it, it’s possible. For me dressing modestly has become part of who I am. I have the conviction in my heart that I’m pleasing God by dressing modestly and that is all that matters to me. He loved me so much to reach out to my life to show me the way of Truth, to save me and my family, I’m so grateful that I want to please him with everything. Holiness in my life is fundamental.
P.S. I love what she’s wearing, she looks great in it! Thanks Claudia.

OOTD: Sunday Church Day!
So, I wanted to share an outfit with you all!
Over the holiday season I purchased some clothing from Jade McKenzie Apparel. She has a lot of nice modest clothing. When buying things online I’m always hesitant because sizing can vary, but lucky for me, this skirt fit me great. I really loved the skirt (LOVE RUFFLES – Can’t get enough of them), you can tell it’s great quality, worth the price you pay. The only issue I had was the wait! Lol…it took a few weeks to get, but it was worth it. I was excited when I found the matching shirt too (totally on accident – wasn't even shopping for me!) and it was on clearance for only $7 bucks! I got a lot of compliments on this skirt from my beautiful church sisters, I’m sure Jade McKenzie would be proud. LOL….Yay!

Modest Girl of the Week: America's Testimony
Today, we share with you America's lovely testimony. She is a beautiful women inside and out. I am honoured to call her my friend. This article is worth your time to read! It is a great example of how we can climb the corporate ladder and defeat all odds, when we are determined to serve and please God only. He honours our faithfulness to Him in many different ways. Enjoy!!
"Charm is deceitful and beauty is passing, but a woman who fears the LORD, she shall be praised." - Proverbs 31:30

When I think of modesty the word “Respect” comes to mind, respect for God above all, respect to my household and respect to others around me. The word “Fear” in scripture translates to “Respect”. I want to be mindful of how I present myself before God and also to the outside world. I want them to notice the difference and become intrigued and question my actions. How else will they ask about him (JESUS)? If they can’t distinguish me from others.
I struggled with modesty throughout my school years; I idolized the things the world (Fashion, vanity). I loved the world more than loving the one who had created me and made me in his image.
Modesty has brought so many blessings to my life. The people around me treat me with “Respect”; they become intrigued and ask questions (Great opportunity to talk about JESUS). Doors of opportunity have opened for me, I could have never imagined (career wise). While other woman continue to make their way up the corporate latter by their sex appeal, I will continue to please God by loving him will all my heart and he will guide me places I’ve never imagined.
Why do I say this (Testimony)
The company I worked for in 2011 (not going to mention any names) got bought out by the 3rd biggest Home/Personal care Company in the world. I was a contract employee at the time of the buyout. I remembered feeling down, getting motivated to look for another job can be pretty stressful. Well November 2011 kicked in and talks about severance packages started to circulate around the office. There was this one lady that came up to me and said well you are not going to get a severance package because you’re on contract. I kept quiet and said nothing, well she was right to certain point, I didn’t get a severance package. The Director of Operations and Supply Chain came up to me and apologize because I didn’t get offered a severance package and told me to talk to HR. Well to make the story short God has the last word I got a severance package, but wait things get better…..
December kicked in and rumors started circulating around the office that some people were still going to get job offers. The same lady came up to me and said well you won’t get offered a job because you’re on contract, I said nothing and kept quiet. I had numerous meetings with the Director of Supply Chain of new company and he had stressed his point long enough that there were no positions available in Supply Chain. To my surprise and let the Glory to be to JESUS and JESUS only, Mid-December my boss calls me into his office and tells me “America they are offering you a job”. You know when your mind blanks out and all you can hear is blah blah blah that’s what I heard from my boss, but within gave Glory to the all mighty. So my next question was “when do I interview?” and he said “didn’t you just hear me, you don’t need an interview I did the interview for you”….Tell me Is our God not amazing!!!….
The woman in the office couldn’t believe it and started saying now that your moving uptown, you have to dress different…Don’t waste your breath to sound of the enemy, smile and give thanks to the Lord. I don’t need to change for no one. I want to be known by my modest ways and to know that his favor will always be by my side. What do I want to say by all of this, please God above all things…I’ve seen woman in the corporate world and you can call me a liar if you like, but you know it’s true, they ruin their marriages to get ahead in life, or reveal a lot more than they should to win favor from their bosses…But no need for that here I have JESUS by my side J
Modesty and everything else is based on the relationship you have with God, it’s about a love story. Love drove him (Jesus) to cross and I’ve fallen head of heals for him, all I want to do is please him in every way possible. Remember ladies and I say this to myself as well don’t be drawn to things of the word (Fashion, Vanity) these things shall pass, God never changes and the woman who respects his ways she shall be praised…My advice fall in love with God and all the struggles within will disappear.

Modest Girl of the Week: Johanna
This week we bring you Johanna's story. She is an awesome beautiful friend. Please enjoy her story!
Name: Leidy Johanna
Age: 29

Ministries: Right now, I'm working as a Sunday School Teacher.
Dressing Modestly Since: Since I was born, but it was because my mother decided for me. But it was actually my decision since I was a teenager. I can't say it's been easy, I've had times when I've fought with myself but the thought always comes to mind that; this is beyond a set of rules or a religion, it's a lifestyle that pleases the Lord.
Anything You'd like to say about Modesty: In my opinion, being modest goes beyond how I dress, for me it's an inside job, it starts on me inside to the exterior. What I have in my heart is what I'm going to reflect. Every time you look at the mirror think, What is your desire with dressing the way you do? More importantly, who do you aim to please with your wardrobe? One word that comes to my mind when I think about modesty is to be genuine. I'm not just talking about being original or unique but beyond doing that, being transparent, being truthful before men and primarily God. Being genuine means, to be pure, natural and unmixed, but above all be yourself! Being yourself will lead you to live a modest life in your whole being. But above all live a genuine life before God. If we talk about being "modest" I think about it as my manner of life, from how I dress, how I act, how I speak, how a walk, how I think and how I express myself to others, it’s a complete package, the one is accompanied by the other. I'm not saying it's easy to stand every day in the mirror and make a decision of what to wear today, but it’s not impossible to make the right choice. Start analyzing your life on the inside. Once you work on that, it will reflect on your outside, think that by pleasing God you will be blessed! Being modest in my manner of living, pleases the Lord, and brings blessing to my life. Thank you and God continue to bless you.

New Years Outfit
Happy New Year to all of my lovely bloggers/followers!!!
Today I wanted to share with you what I ended up wearing for new years. If you remember this post from an outfit I wanted to put together from back in November. - Well, sadly, that outfit didn't come true. ha! It's not that I didn't try to make it happen. I actually did buy a sweater from Evy's Tree similar to one in the picture (on sale - woot!), but it's navy blue, yellow and grey, however when I got it in the mail, I couldn't figure out how to make it work fancy. Maybe the black one would have worked better, but Evy's tree didn't have any on sale anymore, so I went with the navy blue. However, I do really love the sweater and will do a post on it when I wear it, it's really pretty! As for the Tulle skirt, I tried finding one online and boy are they pricey. I was then going to make one, but didn't find the inspiration. lol....
So, what did I end up wearing? This:
Blouse: VV Boutique! lol...
Flower Collage: Dainty Jewells (comes with 5 flowers but I just wore 3)
Black Skirt: my closet for a while
Shoes: Sterling (didn't last all night though)
The blouse I bought it at one of our favourite stores, value-village thrift store. It's a vintage top, it even had the shoulder pads that I so dislike, but I loved the colour and thought it had potential! When I got home, I took off the shoulder pads and really liked how it looked, so I decided that's what I would wear. Also, I love what my friend Julieth was wearing, she got her printed top at Winners. She looked lovely.
What y'all wear. Link up your posts, would love to see. :)
P.S. Are you following me at my new blog yet? The Songs of Our Life here!

Dressing Feminine and Winter Sports!
I saw this picture in a newspaper and thought it would be
nice to share it with you all! Who loves winter sports around here?
I love the ladylikeness (is that a word?) of these pictures.
I believe God desires for there to be a visible difference between men and
women. And I don’t just mean about wearing skirts, I mean in every aspects of
our dress, that we may truly look like women. When he created us, he created us a lot different
than man, and not just outwardly, but our insides, men and women are different
and have different needs. I truly believe that God would like us to express
this difference in the way we dress as well. I think that cross-dressing (women
dressing more like men and men dressing more like women) has been one of the
things that influenced the rise of homosexuality. The way you dress effects the
way you feel, that cannot be denied!!! So, if you ask me, I’m all for dressing
very feminine or girly. J
Anyway, I love these pictures too because it reminds of a
time where the moral standards were higher. The more time passes, the less
moral standards humanity has. It’s quite frightening, especially when I think
about our kids future, but I know that we can still be a difference in this
decaying world!
I also love how the lady seems so content skiing in her skirt, (not thinking "oh this is ackward" - it was the norm!)
and the girls skating in their skirts, which appear to be attached to shorts
underneath, pretty cool, although I would wear my skirt a little more knee length.
Lol….
When I was younger I went skiing in a skirt and I had such a
great time. I remember considering skiing so thrilling and fun!! I also learned
to skate a very young age and have never had difficulties doing that in a skirt
either. Now in days, there are also apostolic seamstresses that make sporty
& skiing skirts for outdoor activities. I came across this lady a few
months ago, from Modest ActiveWear and found the work she does pretty neat! If you are an outdoor girl,
maybe you could check her out here. You can also read this Post I did a few
months ago about sporty skirts here.
Happy Tuesday!Wednesday, December 12, 2012
Enough is Enough
I came
across this and really loved it. It is true ladies, we can never be like women
of the world. We need to live in accordance to the Holy Book of God. Reading
this reminded me that we are different in every aspect of our lives. Everything
the World represents is opposite to what God desires of us. The world doesn’t
need any more worldly women, it needs more Godly women! Represent the God you
serve with Pride, make a difference in your community, workplace, school with
everything you are (actions & dress). The world doesn’t need any more women
dressing immodestly, it needs more ladies like you and I. Enough is Enough,
this world doesn’t need any more darkness, will you continue to stand out and
be the light?!?!? Even if it’s only YOU in your workplace, school or community,
don’t doubt that you are making a difference! You are in more ways than you
could possibly think. And don’t feel awkward either because you are different!
If so many people team up out there to do wrong things and things that bring no
benefit to humanity, we can certainly team up and keep being a difference, a
light in this dark world and shine the Love of Christ on all. We can be an
example in the way talk, dress, and speak in front of others. The World needs
to see God in us! In my workplace, I'm the only one who of this Faith,
sometimes it can be discouraging to know, you are the only one that’s different,
not just in the way you dress, but in every aspect! And what I mean by discouraging
is, knowing that people don’t want anything to do with God and they are so
enwrapped in sin. However, you can think about it this way, you are one person
less this world has got a hold of! And maybe, just maybe, in due time, if you
remain the light, those people will remember you are different and seek you to
ask you about your God in their time of need. I’ve had this happen!!!
I pray you are encouraged to keep on fighting this good faith battle!
P.S. I've started another more personal blog here, I'd love it if you would join me there too. :)

Retrospect Fashion
When speaking about fashion, If I could have
been born in a different era, I would have chosen the 1950’s. I absolutely love
the styles that were “in” at that time period. It seems though, that it was all
relatively the same, with only the patterns changing. But that’s okay because I
love these dresses!!! Here are some of my favourite that I found when doing a
search. On most of the dresses during this era the top part was fitted to
appear of a small waist and the bottom skirt was beautifully flared! Certain variations
of this style were absolutely elegant. There are still dresses similar to these
available in certain stores, but not as flared. Love this style. And what I especially
love about vintage fashion is of course, for the most part it was modest and
very feminine.
Gotta love 'em Polka Dots!
More styles of that Era. : )
Hope you enjoyed this post. If you could choose
your favourite fashion era, what would it be?

He Can Change YOU & Contest Info
I was meditating on a few of my friends and was amazed at truly how God has the power to transform and change people.
Sometimes we may doubt the power of God to
change a person but He truly can. All it takes is an open heart. One of the
ladies from our church said before, “sometimes we may say, I want to see
miracles, not realizing that we ourselves are miracles of God”. Think about it,
if you hadn’t had an encounter with the almighty, a breaking point in his
presence, you would not be the changed person you are today.
I love to see how some of my friends had a
completely different view of modesty a few years or months back and how God has
changed their mindset and in turn changed their wardrobe. It may have taken
time, but they allowed God’s word and his presence convict them on these
things. Truly modesty is the type of thing that you can teach to people (and we
should) but only God can move us to make changes in our lifestyle that have
been there for years! It’s lovely to see
before and after pictures.
If you are still struggling with Modesty. Have
an open heart, let God guide you to choosing the right wardrobe. Think about the
things you wear and the reasons behind why you do, examine your heart and ask
God to speak to you and guide you to making choices that HE agrees with. Don’t
think it’s impossible to change and don’t try to rush things either. Let it be
a gradual change, start with little things, leaving things behind or adding
things to your wardrobe here and there. Celebrate the small things you
accomplish and soon enough, you will be at the level where you have desired to
be. Sometimes our struggles with modesty come because we want to rush the
change and we ourselves are in the process of changing inside. I’m not saying
the desire to change is bad, it’s absolutely good but I’m saying that in most
cases it does take time to flip our lives around and if we try to rush it, we
may just end up discouraged and back to point zero.
So those are my thoughts today! I’m thankful
for the powerful testimonies I’ve been a witness too. How God can change a life
around from inside to the out, all He needs is a willing and open heart.

Modest Girl of the Week: Erika
This week we bring you the beautiful and talented Lady Erika, All the way from Texas! Enjoy.
Age: 28 years
Name: Erika M
Age: 28 years
Ministries: Worship Leader, Sunday School teacher, Youth Secretary, Church Administrative Assistant
Dressing Modestly since: 1992
Anything you would like to say about Modesty?
Modesty or living Holy for God is what God has always wanted from us Since the beginning. When Eve and Adam sinned for the first time they immediately sewed an apron made of fig leaves, a very poor garment and the easiest to find. That's when we see God had to show them the right way to dress. The word of God says in Gen. 3:21...the LORD God made coats of skins, and clothed them.
My daily trend is feeling proud and great - that's the root of looking great. Modesty is reflecting God outwards and inwards.
And the same thing
happens nowadays, people will go to the mall and buy the easiest and fastest things to find because
that's the the kind of clothes everyone is dressing in. But God's ways are not
the easiest or the fastest, we must pray to the Lord before we go shopping, for him to
show us what He has for us today! The Lord will go high quality, modest and
inexpensive clothes! In other words, He will
bless you because you put Him in first place.
My daily trend is feeling proud and great - that's the root of looking great. Modesty is reflecting God outwards and inwards.
Thank you Erika for sharing your thoughts with us! Sister Ericka also has a Youtube Channel where she shares unique hairstyles for ladies with the Curlies. Subcribe to her channel.

Social Media vs The Creator – Jesus Wins, by Far!
Hey, Social Media, Did you know I am fearfully and wonderfully made by God?
I absolutely hate how the enemy has empowered
social media to make women feel ugly! I want to tell you right now, you are
beautiful. Most of those pictures you see in magazines, TV, internet, are not a
real images, they are fixed up images of people who have no moral standards
whatsoever. And even if they are true images, they are a result of the
influence of an industry that makes you do anything in your power to “look the
part” or else you won’t make it in that industry. It’s an industry full of
vanity, lustfulness, and selfishness (all things which don’t please God). They
are being used by the enemy just to complete his purpose of making the younger
generation of girls, lose their moral standards, lose self-esteem and in the end
lose their faith in God because HE didn’t make them “beautiful enough”. I’m
sick and tired of hearing stories of girls who go through strenuous exercise
routines, just to get “model skinny” there’s even a movement a friend showed me
on Pinterest that encourages you to be skinny and not for health reasons. There
are so many girls out there with anorexia and bulimia stories, it’s
unbelievable. Don’t you get it? That’s just the enemies goal. If he deals with
the younger generation, than what is of the generations to come? Don’t be fooled ladies, what social media says is true beauty is not even real.
If reading these fashion magazines makes you
feel upset about yourself, maybe that’s a sign for you to not read it! For one, when I was in my teens, reading those
fashion magazines was “in” so I’d pick up a copy from friends, here and then.
It’s so amazing how the enemy can enwrap you into longing to be something like
the magazines. Wow. I would feel like I would never be that pretty, I could
never wear that clothes and look good.
Because the images they present you are so fake but yet you feel like
that’s how they really look and that’s what beauty is, and if you don’t look
like that, you will never find a decent partner! But thank God that the Lord
took me away from that mentality and showed me what truly a beautiful women is.
When I see women dress modestly and I get to
know them and I can truly see the love of God in their heart. It’s like this
beauty you can’t explain. It’s so beautiful to me. It’s like they have this
glow to them. A certain Glory. : ) You overcome any physical beauty and see
something that is so pure and lovely. Only the grace of God. And I’ve heard
comments from non-believers (men and women) comment on how beautiful apostolic
women are and that there’s a certain attraction to them! It’s the glory of God,
I tell you! Reflected in who we are, because we are pleasing the most high in
every aspect of our lives.
So, stop thinking you need to be like the next cover
girl etc. You don’t. Work with the modest clothing you got and be creative,
check out some hairstyling tips on YouTube, check that your soul is in tune
with the holy spirit and you will be noticed and distinguished as a child of
the King. Trust me! You don’t need to do much to be beautiful, you are
beautiful, as the child of the Most high! You don’t need to plaster your face
with makeup to be beautiful, In the end that would not even really be you! Don’t
hide the beautiful face God has given to you. Let Christ be seen in you. Not this fake truth
the enemy tries to portray.
And WARNING this might not be the last article I
write on this topic, sometimes we all need a reminder.
“I praise you because I am
fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full
well.” Psalms 139:14 (NIV)

Modesty: More than Clothes?
So I recently bought an E-book to read on the
lovely tablet I got for my B.day. Let me tell you how much I love this tablet.
I’m reading so much more now!! J Anyway,
back to the book. The book is called The Secret Keeper: The Delicate Power of Modesty.
It’s not apostolic, so there are a few things in the book I don’t agree with,
however, for the most part, so far, It has had so many great
perspectives. My plan is to do a full review of the book once I’m done but
while I read it, I may have a few things to say about it and for you to read. Lol…
Aint that the truth? A girl can be dress perfectly modestly but if inside of her she does not carry a modest spirit (or struggles in this area), that will go to show in her character and actions! Be careful that your actions are truly reflective of who you are trying to represent on the outside. Some things may not seem to be “bad” per say but they can certainly lead to things we would never expect if we are not careful in the way we act or where we go with men, even church men. Proverbs 14:12 -"There is a way that seems right to a man, But its end is the way of death."
So this morning I was reading about how modesty
is not only about what you are wearing on the outside but also about the type
of person you are wearing inside! Now I know that we know this, because
essentially that’s what Paul was trying to say in that verse, “…let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the
incorruptible beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very
precious…” 1 Peter 3:4….We must have a modest spirit as
well as a modest wardrobe. Now what do I mean but a modest spirit? Well, a
spirit that is righteous, that is humble, that seeks what is good before God,
and a spirit that essentially seeks for GOD to be seen in them, rather than
themselves.
I wanted to share this quote from her book:
“You cannot limit the power of your modesty to just what you wear. It’s also controlled or forfeited by where you are willing to go with guys, when you go there and how you act. I bet you can think of girl who’s reputation as a flirt precedes her. Perhaps, she does not dress to show off the secrets of her beauty, but the way she invades a guy’s personal space or flirts with him issues an unspoken challenge concerning her sexuality”

This book has also given me a perspective of
how men view women and how modesty is so important in the way we dress and act
around men. Sometimes you wouldn’t think you are even doing anything wrong, but
men are a totally different make-up than women, they feel and view things
differently. As Christian ladies, we must also take care to cause no one to
stumble. The Lord has entrusted us with a great power and Glory as women, it's up to us to use it wisely. I will share more on that as I progress in the book.
Hope this can be a blessing, especially to the
younger girls following this blog! J

I am a Pastors wife, I sing in church, and I also am in charge of
the ladies ministry. Sounds like alot but I love it. God has blessed us with
brother and sisters who love the lord, and are willing to help in everything.
Plus, I love being active for the Lord.
Dressing Modestly since:
Dressing Modestly since:
I was raised a
Pentecostal, so I can proudly say that I have been dressing modestly forever.
Modesty, for me, is extremely important because I have to be an example in the
church. This is not the reason I dress modest though, I do it to honor God, and
because I love it.
Anything you want to say about modesty:
Anything you want to say about modesty:
I did go through a semi-rebellious
stage, when I was younger, where I would try and get away with little things in
my attire. Like a tighter skirt or a slightly above the knee. I think being
modest or actually going out of your way to find something modest doesn't
become an importance, until you start to actually fall in love with God. I mean
actually fall in love, not just say you love Him. When you fall in love with
God, it becomes easy to obey and to honor Him. You then realize how important
it is to belong to God. I love the verse that says.. 1Peter 2:9 (NIV) But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special
possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darknessinto his wonderful light. We are,
ladies, God's SPECIAL possession. As God's special posession we should honor
him in all we do. We're special!! We gotta do what special people do, and that
is stand out!!
Sidenote: A great place to find awesome skirts is at the thrift store. Also, If
you need inspiration on cute modest fashions.. Pinterest is your place! You can
still be stylish, and "in" while being modest too! There is really no
excuse.
Thank you Cindy for sharing your thoughts and suggestions, we appreciate them!

Clothing Temptation
So today, I just want to be real.
You know how sometimes you find a skirt, dress or even a cute shirt that is 1) is absolutely gorgeous 2) Unique in every way 3) ON SALE! Then you go to try it on and, dun, dun, dun, it fits toooo skin tight or toooo short, however, it looks really great on you because your beautiful lady figure is showing. C’mon ladies, we know we are beautiful. It’s almost so tempting to buy it, so everyone can see how gorgeous we really look. It’s something in human nature to “show off” what we’ve got. But that’s when Jesus comes in. His spirit in us, shows us that it’s not about us, but about honouring him. He helps all that pride and vanity in us dissipate. However, it’s true, sometimes our human nature kicks in and we are tempted into wearing things that are immodest.
What I wanted to express with this post is that, yes we are girls who love God and want to please him in every way, but we can be real and say that there will be times in which we will be tempted to lower our standards, because we live in a “low standards” world! However, always, always, always, think twice before you go ahead and do something you will regret! Sometimes it will just be out of frustration that we can hardly find clothing that is suitable for our needs and we will go with whatever we find “half-decent” out of frustration. But there are ways to work around making things “half-decent” - decent and look absolutely great modestly.
Stand strong and
remember that one of the fruits of the spirit is Self-Control, use it freely,
as there is no law against it. - Galatians 5:22-23.
Charm is deceitful
and beauty is passing, But a woman who fears the LORD, she shall be praised. – Proverbs

Modest Girl of the Week - Julieth
So this week a lovely beautiful lady shares a bit of her story with us. Enjoy!
Name: Julieth C
Age: 22
Dressing Modestly Since:
Since I can remember, but I went thru some darks days. My high school years were not my greatest, it wasn’t until my senior year (grade 12) that I made up my mind to be either hot or cold and not warm just like the bible says, I didn’t want to be spit out by God. So I can say that since 2007 was when I made up my mind to follow God completely and dress modestly and even though sometimes I struggle, I have a great support system! My hubby and my wonderful Mother. And what I mean by struggle is by constantly making sure that this shirt doesn’t show too much, or this skirt isn’t too short... and sometimes trying to make it all work can be a challenge but it’s possible... :)
Anything you want to share about modesty:
The other day I was looking at some pictures on my Facebook and I was just sadden/angry/annoyed/etc. (I don’t know if u can feel all those feelings at once) but I think it was mostly disappointment. I was disappointed because of the lack of Modesty I see in some Christian Girls, it’s either that they just don’t care about being modest OR the elders are not teaching it! Both things disappoint me. I know for some it’s a new concept or it’s simply a struggle because of lack of knowledge but there are others who know the importance of Modesty but they simply just don’t care. I encourage you to CARE! Modesty is essential in a girl/lady's life and speaks to others about the God we serve, it is important that all ladies understand that and that the elders (the older generation) keep teaching modesty and inspiring the younger generation to follow the modesty principles found in scripture. In every aspect, in the way we speak, walk, dress, act, etc... it’s a lifestyle... I know it is not always easy because it’s hard to find clothes that suits our modesty standards but is not impossible. We are the King’s daughters, that makes us princesses. If you look at how princesses in the world dress, they always have a certain level of modesty which they follow, even if they are not Christian but they do it because of who they represent, a Royal family. We represent the King above all Kings. Lets stand by what we believe and not let others tell us otherwise. Modesty Rocks!!!
Special Interests:
I enjoy crafting and good music. My hubby is a crazy musician so there’s music going on in my house all the time. Art and music are part of my life. Even our 3 month old baby enjoys our craziness... All for the glory of God!
